SHIPBOARD TIME MANAGEMENT at NORWEGIAN TRAINING CENTER

    The Norwegian Training Center- Manila in partnership with  ISF Watchkeeper, in compliance with the MLC standards specifically  including those relating to hours of work and rest have made the Shipboard Time Management Course available  for senior merchant marine officers; course will officially start in January 2014.
 

 
The course is designed to provide knowledge & practical understanding of the management and scheduling of work and watch keeping arrangement onboard ship, in view of full compliance to regulations, thus avoiding inspection deficiencies, as well as to minimize fatigue and maintain safe ship operations.






 
COURSE AIMS:
 
Upon completion of the course, participants should be able to:
  1. discuss the concept & principles of time management and relate them to shipboard work environment;
  2. gain practical understanding of the regulations pertaining to the application of requirements governing Seafarers’ Hours of Work and Rest;
  3. acquire know-how on effectively management and scheduling of shipboard
    workloads and watch keeping arrangements taking into account compliance to relevant regulations and fatigue prevention; and
  4. familiarize with the function and use of ISF Watchkeeper - a maritime software application to record, monitor, and manage seafarers’ work and rest hours.

ENTRY REQUIREMENT / TARGET GROUP:
 
This course is open to all management level / senior merchant marine officers.
 
COURSE CERTIFICATE:
 
A Certificate of Completion is given to each participant who satisfactorily fulfills the Course.
