#CourseofTheDay: Basic Offshore Ship Handling
The course is intended for Deck Officers who are new to the offshore industry and are required to acquire knowledge of the unique maneuvering characteristics of offshore support vessels. It provides familiarization on maneuvering systems and the development of essential skills in maneuvering practices for offshore support vessels.
The focus of lessons & instruction covers review of ship handling principles and essential aspects of berth planning and risk assessment; while the practical training consists of simulation exercises using full mission offshore simulator.
Further, the course highly contributes in meeting the training requirements specified in Section B/V (e) of the STCW Code, as amended.
